Travel Tips for post Covid return

Our world will return to normal one day, and with the return to normal brings the questions many are asking “will we ever travel again?” This is a question that many will not take lightly and will spark a lot of questions from friends, family, and others. The Decision to travel will be a personal one especially if they think there will be a new outbreak.

We know we will go back to travel and can not wait to get our feet sunk in warm ocean sand, If you’re still planning to take a vacation, summer, or even plan a winter one we have tried to help with this blog.

There are some safety measures you can take to stay as healthy as possible.

1. Talk to your kids About Covid19

I know this can be a difficult discussion, but your kids are asking questions if they are anything like mine. Obviously keep the conversation age-appropriate and keep it as informative as possible while keeping their little minds safe.

“Most young children can’t comprehend the complexities of Coronavirus, so keep it simple. Be reassuring and empower them to stay healthy,” says Dr. Dawn Davenport,

When you talk to your kids about Covid19 use this as a time to help educate them once they travel

  1. Keep up washing your hands

  2. Touch only what you have to

  3. Don’t touch your face

2. Chose travel destination Wisely (not that you're not wise)

When the world returns to a little normal people may push boundaries and we suggest you choose your travel destination somewhere with the following

  1. If you are going to fly, ensure you are flying to a country that had taken Covid19 seriously and take a look to see how many cases they had and how many people were deemed “healed or back to normal”

  2. Fly to a country that has returns daily to your departure city and eliminate as many layovers as possible. This may reduce your availability in flights but it is worth it.

  3. Consider car travel if you are worried about flights and make it somewhere in your own country.

3. Pack a travel Thermometer

It’s always a good idea to pack a travel thermometer, this will become the new way to travel and it is important to have one on hand at all times.

Also ensure to pack any medications and prescriptions you might need and ensure you have extra on hand ( we do 2 weeks extra) in case you are in isolation for 14 days.

4. Stay Safe and be smart with simple steps

  1. Bring as many antibacterial wipes as you can, and wipe everything down, the chairs you sit in, the utensils you use, the door handles in your rooms wipe wipe wipe EVERYTHING

  2. Keep the habits of washing hands over and over

  3. Cover seats/ loungers with blankets and or towels

  4. Ware face-covering where appropriate

  5. Drink warm liquids 2 -3 times a day ( including warm water)

  6. Eat well and eat often

5. Stay up to date and this means even when you are vacation

Use all available resources to make an educated decision about whether or not to cancel your trip, and check them often. “What might be a low-risk region now can drastically change within a couple of days,” says Dr. Amy Nash, MD, pediatrician
